Today was my third real day in law school. I didn't get called on yet, but I'll be sure to be ready when it does happen.
I'm
feeling pretty good about the whole law school thing in general.
Nothing is overwhelming yet, I haven't ran across something in which I
was completely confused about, and the people/competition seem more
relaxed than envisioned. I made a couple of new friends since I've been
here; we go out to restaurants, commiserate, drink, and help each other
out. I don't think we'll have too many more opportunities to do the
fun things, but it's a good thing since I'm afraid that I'll run out of
money.
My apartment isn't as bad I might have made it out to be
earlier. My only complaint is that the main street running by the place
isn't pedestrian friendly, and that it's a 10 minute drive on the
freeway every morning to school. Nonetheless, the real positive about
the place is a restaurant nearby called Etna. It's a sit down Italian
restaurant open till 2am in the morning on weeknights, and till 3am on
Weekends. Etna has great pizza, and in my experience what is the best
Italian food in general. The kicker is that it's moderately priced
across the board. I hope Michelle will come to visit me this weekend,
so that I can take her there again.
San Diego's a great town to
be in, and I think I'll enjoy my year here. If they successfully turn
my apartment complex into condos, and I'll be forced to move, I'll move
to a place that's closer and busier (month to month or 6 month lease of
course). No matter what happens, I want to do my best this year. And
if the opportunity to transfer presents itself, I'll take that into
consideration.
